Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for application, candidates need to fulfill the following criteria:

  • Must be a recent PhD graduate or in the concluding year of a PhD program in a pertinent discipline.
  • Should have expertise in macroeconomics, finance, public finance, monetary economics, international economics, trade, poverty issues, macro-climate, political economy, econometrics, or similar areas.
  • Must be a citizen of a country that is a member of the IMF.
  • Should be younger than 34 years at the time of joining.
  • Must possess strong analytical, quantitative, and IT capabilities.
  • Should be open to travel, typically for one or two missions during an 18-month period.

Acceptance of Offer & Starting Date

  • Offers will be given to all selected candidates in February 2025.
  • The program will start in September 2025 at the IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C.
