Qualification For Scholarship 

Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship

To qualify, the applicant needs to be directly related through a generational line as the descendant of a veteran.

High school senior with strong academic performance.

The student must show proof of performing at least 50 hours of community service work completed since the previous year.

Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members

  • Active Junior Member for at least three years.
  • High school senior with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrated leadership and community service.

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

  • Member of The American Legion, Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion.
  • Students enrolled in trade school along with two-year or four-year degree programs.
  • Demonstrated financial need.

Department Scholarships

You must be blood-related to someone who fought in authorized wartime or conflict periods.

Many states have specific college entrance requirements that accept only senior high school students and graduates for their scholarship applications.
