The Richmond Scholars Program is the University of Richmond’s highest honor for undergraduate students. Scholarship awards are fully funded for selected scholars to cover full tuition, accommodation and food during their undergraduate studies. Eligibility Criteria for Richmond Scholars Program 2027

Carefully read the Richmond Scholars Program 2027 requirements before applying. The following are the criteria that are expected to be met by applicants:

• Candidates should have a good academic record.
• Students need to show purposeful leadership and an interest.
• Candidates are required to demonstrate a willingness to positively impact a diverse and inclusive University community.
• Students need to be self-motivated to work towards their objectives and to be of service to others and the environment.
• All applications need to be submitted to the University of Richmond as complete undergraduate applications by December 1, 2026.
• The student will have to be accepted to University of Richmond to receive the scholarship.
• The University of Richmond is a test optional school for students entering in the 2027 fall semester.
• No standardized test is required for consideration in Richmond Scholars Program.
• Finalists will need to attend an interview with the faculty selection committee.
• The Final Selection of Richmond Scholars will be made by March 1, 2027.

Richmond Scholars Program 2027 Application

The Richmond Scholars Program 2027 application will open in the Fall of 2026.

We will accept applications for Richmond Scholars Program 2027 in the Fall of 2026.

The Richmond Scholars Program does not require a student to file an application for the scholarship separately. The University of Richmond undergraduate application for admission must be completed and all admissions materials submitted by the scholarship deadline.

Apply to the Richmond Scholars Program 2027 as follows:

1. Fill out the University of Richmond undergraduate admissions application.
2. Fill out the Common Application or Coalition Application.
3. Submit supplemental essay (Richmond Question).
4. Supply high school transcript and other necessary academic documents.
5. Return school report and recommendation letter.
6. Give senior progress grades as necessary.
7. The deadline for the submission of the admission application is 1st December 2026.
8. Standardised test scores can be submitted (and are required for students entering in 2027, but not for students entering as first years in 2027).
9. The university will be looking for applicants with academic excellence, leadership, purpose and a commitment to community.
10. The finalists will be notified by the Spider Portal on February 1, 2027.
11. Finalists will interview with the faculty selection committee in mid-February.
12. Interviews will be done via Zoom.
13. March 1, 2027 is the deadline for the final selection of Richmond Scholars.
14. The Richmond Scholars will be awarded to selected students once they have been accepted to University of Richmond.
