What is MESPOM Scholarship program?

MESPOM is a joint Masters’s degree program between four European universities. It emphasizes environmental sciences, public policy and management, and it provides students with the chance to learn about environmental issues through various academic and international approaches.

Students exchange between partner universities throughout the program and get exposure to different educational systems and working places. MESPOM Scholarship Program Structure

The MESPOM master’s program is multi-university. Students spend varying amounts of the program at partner institutions in Europe.

MESPOM Scholarship First Year

The first year has students studying in Vienna, Austria, in the fall and winter semesters. At this stage, students gain rigorous skills in environmental sciences, policy and management.

MESPOM Scholarship Second Year

The second year of the programme takes place in autumn semester at the same university, either at Lund University, Sweden, or University of Manchester, UK.

The semester is conducted at the University of the Aegean in Lesvos, Greece during the Spring Semester. This enables the students to have a different academic and environmental situation in Europe.

MESPOM Scholarship Internship

In summer term, the students have an internship supervised by MESPOM faculty. This is a practical experience that can enable students to link their school learning with work in the environment.

MESPOM Scholarship Master’s Thesis

At the end of the thesis period, the student has the opportunity for selection of one of the institutions participating in the program based on his/her academic interests and professional goals. This can be used as the opportunity to do research in an area connected with environmental science, policy or management.
