Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the GIST University Scholarship, applicants must:

  • There are no restrictions on which country the student should be from as long as the student is not South Korean.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from a Korean University.
  • Fulfill all the admission requirements and produce all relevant documents.
  • Waiver on English Proficiency Tests.

You need not give English test scores if you have completed your bachelor’s from an English medium institute in a speaking country like the USA, UK, Australia, etc.

TOEFL iBT: 80 or higher

IELTS: 6.5 or higher

TOEIC: 750 or higher

NEW TEPS: 285 or higher

FAQ's

GIST Scholarship pays 140 000 KRW to the MS student and 295 000 KRW to the PhD student, with an additional 100,000 KRW for both programs.

The GIST Scholarship entitles the coverage of 100% of the tuition fee (3,607,000 KRW per semester). There is a one-off payment of 680,000 KRW for the student's matriculation fee. Cash stipends are also paid monthly.

For MS, the applicant must have a bachelor’s degree. For a PhD, a Master’s degree along with having adequate proficiency in the English language, are eligible to apply in the GIST Scholarship Program.
