 Eligibility Criteria

In order to participate in the U.S.-Japan Council Emerging Leaders Program 2025, the candidates should fulfill the program requirements, i.e. they should:

  • Age: between 24 and 35 years as of October 2025
  • Citizenship: legal permanent resident or U.S. citizen
  • Place of residence: The candidate must be a resident of United States or Japan
  • Interest: Great enthusiasm in U.S.-Japan relationship either at work or at study or at community work
  • Leadership: Ability to lead in a professional capacity, or in the local community and leading to a social change.
  • Commitment: Ready to persevere with the Council programs even after the conference
