KAIST Graduate Scholarship 2027 in South Korea is a great opportunity for international students to study in one of the best universities in Asia. KAIST provides a few scholarships for foreign graduate students. Based on the eligibility and selection, the applicants will be considered for the following scholarship programs: KAIST University Scholarship, KAIST Global Presidential Scholarship (KGPS), KAIST Prestige Scholarship (KPS), KAIST CoE PhD Fellowship. Additionally, students have the option to learn about the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS), which has a different application procedure and application deadline.
KAIST Graduate Scholarship Benefits
Selected students receive substantial financial support as KAIST University Scholarship. Master’s students may be eligible for a full tuition fee exemption for up to four semesters and PhD students who are enrolled in an integrated Master’s-PhD program may be eligible for tuition support for up to 10 semesters. Tuition support for PhD students can be up to eight semesters.
In addition, the scholarship offers a monthly stipend which covers the cost of living and rent. Furthermore, the student may be eligible to receive assistance with the National Health Insurance premium.
KAIST Global Presidential Scholarship (KGPS) is a full tuition scholarship for 4 semesters, and a monthly stipend of KRW 1,000,000 for 4 semesters.
The KAIST Prestige Scholarship (KPS) offers a tuition grant of up to 8 semesters and a monthly allowance of around KRW 300,000.
KAIST CoE PhD Fellowship offers full tuition fee for 4 years (approx. KRW 2,500,000 per month).

KAIST Graduate Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The applicants are required to have basic requirements for admission to the KAIST University in general, in order to apply for the KAIST Graduate Scholarship 2027. The scholarship is available to international students who are non-Korean citizens.
The Master’s level programs require an applicant to have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification. Most students who apply to the PhD program will have a related Masters’ degree or equivalent qualification. Students who are expected to finish their current degree may also apply if they are final year students.
The English language requirements are to be met by the applicant, unless they meet an approved language requirement waiver. The minimum scores listed are: TOEFL iBT 83, IELTS 6.5, TOEIC 720, or TEPS 326.
KAIST Graduate Scholarship English Proficiency Waiver
There may be students who can qualify for an English proficiency test waiver. For certain English speaking countries, applicants may be eligible for a KAIST waiver. Students from other countries such as Pakistan, India, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Singapore, South Africa, Philippines, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe can apply and be eligible under certain conditions of citizenship and prior education.
Applicants are advised to review the official KAIST admission requirements to see if they are eligible for an English test waiver.
KAIST Graduate Scholarship Required Documents
All the necessary documents should be prepared based on the latest application requirements by KAIST. Documents that are required include:
- National ID card or other identification.
- Parents’ identification documents (copies).
- Family registration paper showing relationship with parents.
- Degree certificates.
- Final Year Student Certificate or letter of official notification.
- English proficiency Report (if applicable).
- Two recommendation letters.
- CV – especially with regard to recommendations from employers.
- Certificates of honors and awards.
- Resumes or work experience (if applicable).
