The St. Gallen Global Essay Competition, hosted by the International Students’ Committee (ISC), invites graduate and postgraduate students (Master’s and PhD) from across the globe to participate. The top 100 essayists will be granted invitations to the 54th St. Gallen Symposium in Switzerland, scheduled for May 6th to 8th, 2025.

The essay challenge:

Participants are invited to address the following thought-provoking questions:

“Global power is shifting. What’s your innovative idea to address a related risk or opportunity?”

Your essay should not exceed 2,100 words and must be composed in English.

Important information:

  • Deadline: February 1, 2025  
  • Eligibility: Open to students from any discipline, currently enrolled in graduate or postgraduate programs, born on or after January 1, 1995.  
  • Plagiarism check: All submissions will be subjected to a plagiarism assessment.

FAQ's

This competition invites graduate and postgraduate students worldwide to submit essays. The top 100 participants will be granted a fully funded trip to Switzerland to attend the St. Gallen Symposium on May 6–8, 2025.
