2024 WTO Young Trade Leaders One-Year Training

The WTO Young Trade Leaders Program 2024 is now open for applications! This program aims to teach young people about the World Trade Organization and international trade. It brings together young leaders from around the world, aged 18-30, who are excited about global trade. Participants will learn how trade can help both people and the environment.

These young leaders will share new ideas, identify challenges, and suggest ways to improve global trade. Selected participants will join a year-long program. They will also attend a one-day training session at the WTO headquarters in Geneva. The WTO sets global trade rules and helps trade flow smoothly between countries. • Get real experience with the WTO and global trade. 
• Write articles, blogs, and podcasts about trade topics. 
• Plan a session at the WTO’s annual Public Forum. 
• Join WTO training programs. 
• Get guidance from WTO experts. 
• Receive help from the WTO for trade events in your home country.

Invitation to Switzerland

Participants will go to a one-day training in Geneva, Switzerland, in September 2024.

Program Duration

The program lasts for one year, starting in July 2024 and ending in June 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

– You must be between 18 and 30 when you apply. 

– You should have a strong interest in international trade. 

– You must be a citizen of a WTO member country. 

– Good English skills are needed for communication.

Required Documents

• CV (maximum 2 pages). 
• A 2-3 minute video where you introduce yourself. Talk about your interest in the program and how you will contribute. 
• A 300-word essay on “What trade means to you?”

• Send your application to YTL@wto.org with the needed documents. Name the files clearly (e.g., CV, Video, Essay). Convert them to PDF for a professional appearance.
• Deadline: 5th July 2024 (23:59 CET).
• Candidates on the shortlist will have interviews in July 2024.
