2025 CAS ANSO Scholarships in China (500 Fully Funded Awards)

The ANSO Scholarship 2025 in China is now accepting applications. ANSO, which stands for the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions, offers a total of 500 scholarships each year, comprising 200 for Master’s and 300 for Ph.D. candidates. 

Students can undertake their studies at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), or other institutions within the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) throughout 

The ANSO Scholarship fully covers all expenses during the program. Students worldwide are eligible to apply. If you lack IELTS or TOEFL scores, you can provide alternative evidence of English proficiency. Comprehensive details and application guidelines are available below.

Benefits of the ANSO Scholarship

Those awarded the ANSO Scholarship will enjoy:

• Exemption from tuition fees
• Monthly financial support:
• PhD candidates: 6,000–7,000 CNY/month (for a maximum of 48 months)
• Master’s candidates: 3,000 CNY/month (for up to 36 months)
• Health coverage
• Waiver of application fees
• Allowance for international travel (from home country to China)
• Support for visa and residence permit

This opportunity is fully funded, covering all essential costs.

Important: Candidates are not allowed to apply to both USTC and UCAS simultaneously. This will lead to disqualification.

ANSO Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Nationality: Applicants must not hold Chinese citizenship.

Language Skills: Proficiency in either English or Chinese is required.

Age Restrictions:

• Master’s Candidates: Must be born post-January 1, 1995.
• PhD Candidates: Must be born post-January 1, 1990.

Academic Criteria: Candidates must satisfy the admission criteria of USTC or UCAS.

Application Deadline
