What is the Collide Residency Program?

This unique initiative invites artists interested in science and technology to conduct research and create artwork inspired by cutting-edge scientific advancements. Participants will spend one month at CERN collaborating with specialists in particle physics and engineering, followed by a month at Copenhagen Contemporary, where they will investigate the influence of these scientific fields on culture and society.

The program invites applications from artists worldwide who are at least 18 years old and have a minimum of five years of professional artistic experience. Candidates are expected to present a robust portfolio and exhibit a sincere interest in the cultural dimensions of scientific inquiry and technological advancements.

The residency lasts two months, from May to June 2025. It begins with one month at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, and ends with another month at Copenhagen Contemporary in Denmark.

The Collide Residency Program participants will receive round-trip airfare, free accommodation in Switzerland and Denmark, and a CHF 15,000 stipend to help cover research and living expenses throughout the residency.

Applicants must submit their details, a collective biography, and examples of relevant artworks or projects. They must also include a comprehensive project proposal, a project summary, and a motivation statement expressing their interest in the residency.
