Admission Requirements

• Applicants must not possess Chinese nationality.
• Candidates should be in good health.
• Completion of secondary education is required for undergraduate applications.
• A Bachelor’s degree is necessary for graduate applications.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required for doctoral applications.
• Applicants should be below 25 years old for undergraduate programs.
• Applicants should be below 35 years for graduate programs.
• Applicants should be below 40 years for doctoral programs.
• Cannot hold another scholarship funded by the Chinese government during the SDU Scholarship tenure.

English Language Criteria

• Native English speakers are not required to submit language certificates.
• Non-native English speakers must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following options:
• IELTS: A minimum score of 6.0 is required.
• TOEFL: A minimum score of 80 is necessary (SDU’s DI code: C296).
• MyBest Scores: A minimum score of 80 is needed.
• Essentials test: A minimum score of 8 is required.
• Equivalent certificates are also accepted.

Applicants who have completed their highest degree at an institution where English is the medium of instruction are exempt from submitting IELTS/TOEFL scores. However, they must provide a signed and stamped letter from the institution confirming the program was entirely conducted in English.

Scholarship Outcome

The conclusive results are set to be revealed on August 1st, 2024.
