The Georg Arnhold Senior Fellowship 2027 in Germany, a fully funded opportunity for experienced researchers worldwide, is currently accepting applications. The Leibniz Institute for Educational Media | Georg Eckert Institute (GEI) in Brunswick, Germany, is the host institution for the fellowship, which will begin in January 2027 and last for six months.

The Georg Arnhold Senior Fellowship 2027 provides funding to academics who study media in post-conflict settings, sustainable education reform, and peace education. A substantial monthly stipend to cover living expenses, a return ticket in economy class, administrative support, and help publishing the results of their research will be provided to selected fellows. All countries are welcome to apply, and there is no application fee.

The Fellowship’s Focus Area

The focus of the fellowship is Education for Sustainable Peace, with a particular focus on enhancing curricula and educational media in post-conflict cultures. Enhancing the quality and effectiveness of educational materials used with youth is its main goal in order to promote activities that contribute to lasting peace.

The Georg Arnhold Senior Fellowship 2027 offers seasoned academics the chance to work on a significant research or practice-focused project for six months at the GEI Institute in Brunswick, Germany. Fellows are encouraged to investigate the ways in which media, textbooks, and educational resources might support social change and peacebuilding.

Fellowship Program: Eligibility Criteria

In order to qualify for the 2027 Georg Arnhold Senior Fellowship, candidates need to:

  • Be a senior researcher or an accomplished expert with a lot of experience.
  • Provide an idea for a project that is obviously related to peace education.
  • Show that you have a solid academic or professional background in one or more disciplines that are relevant, like:

Applicants must additionally provide evidence of:

  • Significant international or foreign work experience in fields such as journalism, government, or NGO/CSO leadership
  • Five or more years of specialized work experience in peacebuilding or peace education
  • Demonstrated real-world impact through their work or research
  • A background that ideally combines academic excellence with practical field experience
