Eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must hold a PhD.  
  • Applicants must have a strong background in research or creative activities, including publications, exhibitions, or projects.  
  • The fellowship prioritizes individuals from the Global South.  
  • Preference will be given to women and gender-diverse individuals of color.  
  • A genuine interest in the theme of Global Blackness is essential.  
  • Applicants are required to explain how their project relates to Johannesburg and JIAS.
