Who Can Apply?
You must fulfill the following requirements to be selected for the MEXT Undergraduate Scholarship:
Nationality: Must not be a Japanese national.
Age: Born after 2nd April 2000 or 18 years and above when joining university.
Education: Achieved at least 12 years of education by March 2025.
Visa: Be prepared to apply for Japan Student Visa.
Arrival: Be able to arrive in Japan between 1st April 2025 and 7th April 2025.

The scholarship supports a broad range of disciplines, categorized as follows:
Behavioural Sciences and Social Sciences
Category A: Politics & Law, Sociology & Literature, Japanese, History & Pedagogy.
Category B: Economics, Business Administration, and their related programs.
Natural Sciences
Category A: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Studies, Civil Engineering, Chemical Studies and so on.
Category B: Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Food Science, Fisheries, Biology and Pharmacy.
Category C: Medicine and Dentistry.
