FAQ's

The fellowship is fully funded and covers the tuition for the LL.M. program, a monthly stipend for the UNEP internship, health insurance, round-trip airfare to and from Washington, D.C., and the UNEP assignment and necessary textbooks. However, fellows are responsible for living expenses in Washington, D.C., during the LL.M. program.

This fellowship is open to lawyers from developing nations with a law degree recognized in their home country. Applicants must be currently employed by a national or local government andactively engaged in environmental, energy, or natural resources law. They must also commit to returning to their home country and continuing their work in public-sector ecological law for at least three years after completing the fellowship.

The fellowship includes an LL.M. program at Georgetown University, succeeded by a three-month internship with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The total duration of the program is approximately one year.
