The UP Commonwealth Scholarship is offered to individuals from Commonwealth nations (excluding South Africa) who plan to commence their doctoral studies at the University of Pretoria in 2025. Eligible applicants must be under 40, hold a Master's degree obtained within the past two years, and have confirmed a supervisor at UP.

This scholarship covers accommodation, living expenses, medical insurance, textbooks, tuition fees, return airfare, study visa expenses, and shuttle services upon arrival.

Applicants must submit a motivation letter from their supervisor, a research proposal, a curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, a copy of their passport, and two reference letters from different supervisors. If relevant, the employer must also include a certificate of study leave.
